By Air:

There are a choice of daily flights from Stornoway to Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh, Aberdeen to Stornoway. There is also a daily inter-island air service between Stornoway (Lewis), Benbecula (Uists) and Castlebay (Barra). Flights take less than fifty minutes and there are excellent links between the mainland airports and London.

For flight information see:

By Sea:

A modern fleet of car ferries connects the islands to each other and to the mainland ports of Ullapool (Wester Ross), Oban, and Uig (Isle Of Skye) 7 days a week:

  • Stornoway (Lewis) from Ullapool
.

  • Tarbert (North Harris) from Skye
.

  • Leverburgh (South Harris) for the connection to Otternish, North Uist.

In summer, a choice of two or three daily sailings will suit most travel schedules and with the journey time between Stornoway and Ullapool being only 2hrs. 30 mins, sailing to the islands couldn't be easier. In the summer months booking in advance is advised.
For ferry information, see Caledonian Macbrayne
