St Kilda

 

Day 1

Our 5 day adventure to St Kilda is for those who have more time on their break or who make the journey to St Kilda a major part of their holiday experience to the Hebrides. Our Journey to St Kilda begins in Stornoway at 9:00am. We start sailing south and if the weather is appropriate we will stop at the Shiants for lunch and an explore. Finishing our first day in Leverburgh.

Day 2

After breakfast we  set sail for St Kilda  where we will circumnavigate Borreray and the stacs of  "Armin" and "Lee" before anchoring in Village bay for the night, You should have enough time to go ashore to explore the village for a couple of hours before dinner.

Day 3

After Breakfast we we will sail round Hirta to get a close look at the highest sea cliffs in Britain and watch the puffins as they go about their day of fishing.

Back in village bay go ashore to explore the the island of Hirta  (a packed lunch will be provided).The warden will meet us when we go ashore and explain a bit about the history of the islands.We can then go off and marvel at the cleits and wildlife around its shores and cliffs on your own. Early evening we board Elinca for our evening meal.

Day 4

Following a lazy breakfast we set sail for the sound of Harris and then North to Lewis where we will anchor in one of the sheltered lochs for the night.

Day 5

Sail to Stornoway where we aim to arrive by mid day.

St Kilda is a  dual world heritage site and  makes it one of only 24 worldwide. There will be a chance to take the helm under the guidance of our experienced skipper and sail between the Stacs and past incredible cliffs if you desire or simply gaze at the thousands of gannets, puffins, guillemots and razorbills on the ledges and in the water, depending on what time of the summer we sail to these islands we could also see Whales, Dolphins, Porpoises Basking sharks and occasionally Orcas and Sun fish.

5 day trip to StKilda leaving from Stornoway and returning to Stornoway. This trip will include a visit to the Shiants and Taransay, weather permiting.

Cost per person £695

6 day 5 night trip to St Kilda leaving and returning from Leverburgh. This trip will include a visit to Taransay on the last afternoon.
